“CHI is honored to receive this status which will enable us to share the 25 years of work on the ground in slum communities in India. We look forward to interacting with organizations with a similar mission to strengthen work that CHI is currently doing.”
– Dina Pahlajani, M.D., President of Children’s Hope India
Children’s Hope India has been recognized with Special Consultative status from the United Nations Economic and Social Council for our work to lift children from poverty to prosperity and is working to help meet the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
In support of our work with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, we have made commitments to not only partner with other organizations working in the fields of education, health and nutrition, but to support global development goals in the process.
The Sustainable Development Goals are 17 objectives agreed upon by global stakeholders to help move the needle on creating a more sustainable future for all. For our part, CHI dedicates its work and outcomes to Goal 4: Obtaining a quality education is the foundation to improving people’s lives and sustainable development.
More recently, our COVID Relief Program is furthering UN’s sustainable development mission:
Vulnerable children and their families are benefiting from the distribution of hot meals and dry food supplies (SDG2: Zero Hunger), oxygen, medicines and critical health care (SG3: Good Health & Wellbeing), remote learning tools and virtual lessons (SDG1: No Poverty; SDG4: Quality Education), and thousands of items of personal protective equipment, sanitizers and hand washing units (SDG3: Good Health & Wellbeing; SDG6: Clean Water).
