About Children’s Hope India (CHI):

CHI is a 30-year young, vibrant and rapidly growing organization that is committed to lifting children from poverty to prosperity by nurturing the whole child, providing Education, Career Building, Nutrition, Medical Care, and Mental Health.

Thirty years ago, a group of women professionals came together around a kitchen table with one goal in mind: Pool their resources together in order to improve the lives of children.

Our roots: We knew that children in India were experiencing a tremendous need for basic support in nutrition, health, and education, and we wanted to help.

Our goal: We want to give children back their childhood and the tools to realize their full potential and pursue their dreams. We seek out partners with shared values and the greatest potential to impact the lives of the most underserved communities.

Our conviction: We know that a holistic approach that meets all the needs of a child is the key to lasting change and a better future.

Current Impact:

Over 3,500 children receive a quality education annually. This year CHI launched a major new 30/30 Initiative, that has the potential to impact 5,000 more children.  This Initiative aims to fill the gaps in the current education system by focusing on a play-based preschool curriculum, and tuition/remedial education for older students to prevent dropouts. Qualified students will be given college scholarships to realize their academic goals, thereby, breaking the cycle of need.

Each year more than 100 students attend colleges on CHI-funded scholarships including medical school, engineering, business, and computer science. Throughout the pandemic CHI marshalled resources to continue remote learning by distributing over 2,000 digital devices.  Staff and students made masks and distributed over 600,000 in addition to distributing hundreds of thousands of meals.
