Please join us for Children’s Hope India Annual Gala, Ragas & Rhapsodies: A Virtual Celebration of Resilience, on October 4, 2020.

Despite the extraordinary circumstances created by COVID-19, have the marginalized communities we serve have adapted to new realities and displayed an inspiring resilience. Now, we are thrilled to honor that resilience in this year’s gala, Ragas & Rhapsodies: A Virtual Celebration of Resilience, with performances from some of today’s most innovative and beloved champions of the arts and their power to heal, connect, and inspire.

Ila Paliwal Presents Ragas for Resilience

This year, we will present award-winning vocalist Ila Paliwal with our 2020 Making A Difference Award. This award honors her dedication to spreading a message of hope through her work not only as a classically trained Indian vocalist, songwriter, composer, producer but also through her dedicated work as a philanthropist. Ila, who recently released Ila, the Earth Symphony, joins CHI in our efforts to bring more arts, music, and dance opportunities to CHI students, particularly given their power to heal and inspire despite the current crisis.

A.R. Rahman Presents Rhapsodies for Resilience

CHI’s 2020 Global Icon and Humanitarian Award will be presented to world-renowned musician and humanitarian A.R. Rahman. The Oscar and Grammy-winning composer is also a vocal supporter of literacy and education, particularly through the A.R. Rahman Foundation’s support of marginalized children. Amid the current crisis, millions of children have found themselves cut off from education, but with the support of Rahman and our generous community, CHI will launch a digital literacy program to help some of the most vulnerable students continue their studies.

Vikas Khanna Presents Recipes for Resilience

CHI’s 2020 Action Hero Honoree, world-renowned chef Vikas Khanna has been hard at work over the past several months, delivering life-saving support to millions of Indians. As many of you know, the crisis has increased food insecurity around the world, and for those marginalized populations where we work, the situation has become acute. This year, with support from our Action Hero Vikas and others, CHI’s goal is to serve 1,000,000 meals to those in need.
