Zoie brings a deep passion for grassroots development and donor engagement to her role as Chief Development Officer at Children’s Hope India. She holds a Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in Sustainable Development and Global Practice from the University of Denver, where she cultivated her knowledge in fostering systemic change and empowering underserved communities.
With 16 months of hands-on experience in Ahmedabad, India, working with Manav Sadhna, a nonprofit based at the Gandhi Ashram dedicated to education, health, and community empowerment, Zoie honed her skills in donor relations, storytelling, and building meaningful connections between supporters and impactful initiatives. Her time in India deepened her conviction to dedicate her career to serving underprivileged communities in the region and mobilizing resources to create sustainable change.
Aarti Doshi has been with Children’s Hope India since 2013. She is the Accounts Manager and Project Coordinator for the organization. Prior to working at CHI, she was in charge of Admissions and assisting with Financial Aid at Spartan Health Sciences University. Aarti received her bachelor’s degree from H.R. College of Commerce & Economics, University of Mumbai.
Tamla holds a Master’s in Urban Affairs from Hunter College with a focus on nonprofit management. She has over 18 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, particularly in higher education programs that support the educational and professional development of vulnerable young people.
She was a Program Coordinator at Columbia University’s Workplace Center, providing consultation and training on evidence-based career readiness services for young people in the child welfare system. Tamla also served as the Program Coordinator for Hunter College’s Public Service Scholar Program, an internship initiative aimed at increasing leadership in public service, particularly among women and ethnic minorities.
Additionally, she was a Program Administrator for the Liberty Partnership Programs at Hunter College and Columbia University, supporting their mission to reduce high school dropout rates. Tamla has also worked as a consultant to community groups, assisting with board expansion and engaging businesses in community development projects.
Suneeta Dewan was born in India where she completed her bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from St. Francis College and her master’s degree in Osmania University in Hyderabad. In 1978, she moved to the United States. She graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she obtained her Juris Doctor degree. For over twenty-seven years, Suneeta has had a well-established and reputable law practice focused on serving the immigration needs of families and businesses across all industries as well as the diplomatic community from the United Nations and the World Bank.
A committed activist, Suneeta is also involved in supporting numerous social causes protecting the rights of women, children, and immigrants. Suneeta runs legal clinics and holds seminars on a host of immigration matters. She is also involved with the Hindu Samaj and Cultural Center where she provides pro bono immigration services. For her tireless work in the community, she has received a certificate of commendation for outstanding community service from the County Executives of Bergen County, NJ, and honored by Maravi and The Hindu Samaj. In addition to her service with Children’s Hope India, Suneeta serves on the advisory board of Palms for Life, a NY-based organization that supports vulnerable communities throughout Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
Suneeta is also on the advisory boards of the Indo American Arts Council (IAAC), an organization devoted to promoting awareness of arts of Asian Indian heritage, Friends of Mewar, an organization whose mission is to preserve cultural heritage, promote women and empowerment, and provide preventive healthcare, and Manavi, an organization that works tirelessly to end gender-based violence.
Sunita Manjrekar received a master’s degree from St. John’s University in rehabilitation counseling with a focus on employment and disabilities. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. As the current Director of Employment Programs for the Department of Social Services for Nassau County in New York, Sunita has proven leadership specializing in the field of substance abuse and workforce development. In this capacity, she has developed innovative and creative programs to help the public assistance population achieve self-sufficiency and economic independence. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Hofstra University and Hunter College.
